2025 Amnesty Inspection Explained
An inspection amnesty allows you to bring your animals for inspection regardless of the sire’s / dam’s classification.
As per our Breeding Programme “5.23. The CPBS introduced an amnesty for the uninspected progeny of Class 3 parents on 1st March 2024 which allows for these ponies to be presented for inspection and to be classified according to the Studbook rules. The purpose of this amnesty is to draw in breeding lines which may have been otherwise lost. The amnesty registration period is from 1st March 2024 until 31st October 2025 inclusive and owners of such progeny can present them for classification at the regular inspections organised by the Society between those dates. This amnesty will cease following inspections in the Autumn of 2025.”

Please note that in 2026 the inspection rules will be as follows.
To be eligible for inspection both parents must be entered in Class 1, Class 2 or Over Height (with the exception of geldings)
With funding assistance from the Department of Agriculture Food & Marine.

From 1st March 2024 – 31st October 2025 a Limited Amnesty will be in place for all progeny of Class 3 CPBS registered ponies.
Breeders/Owners may avail of the Amnesty throughout all phases of Inspections from Spring 2024 – Autumn 2025.
